    Loop both ropes over a solid limb and let the ghost hang clear of the trunk. The rope pays out to 13 ft, so even a high branch still drops it to where the street can see it.

    The most common spot, and the easiest. Shorten the rope until the swing seat sits about waist high, and the whole thing is up in a few minutes — one person, no tools.

    Ghost, wooden swing seat and two lengths of natural rope. It arrives pre-assembled, so the only job left is choosing where it hangs. Pumpkins, leaves and mums in the photographs are styling — they are not included.
