About this diffuser
A small white or black box that sends up a soft plume of cool mist, lit from below in amber. From across the room it reads as a low fire; up close you can put a finger through it and feel nothing but a little damp.
Fill the 300 ml tank with water for the light on its own, or add a few drops of essential oil and the same tank carries the scent. It runs on USB-C from the cable in the box — there is no battery inside, so it lives wherever there is a socket, a laptop or a power bank.

No. It is a warm LED shining up through ultrasonic mist, and the two together move the way fire does. Nothing burns and nothing gets hot — which is the whole reason it can sit on a shelf of books, next to paper, or beside a bed all evening without anyone watching it.

Not the way a proper humidifier would, and we would rather say so now than take the return later. The 300 ml tank puts a little moisture into the air immediately around it — enough for a desk or a bedside table, not enough to change a whole room. Buy it for the light and the scent, and treat the damp air as a small bonus.

It runs off USB-C, so the nearest thing to plug into is usually the laptop already in front of you. Low and wide enough to sit beside a screen without competing with it.

A shelf at eye height is where the flame reads best. The light moves across the spines instead of pointing at you, and the mist has thinned to nothing long before it reaches anything.

The last light on before you sleep. It is amber rather than white, and there is nothing burning — so switching it off is the whole of the bedtime routine.
THE FLAME
It is light. Not heat.
What looks like fire is a warm LED shining up through cool mist. You can hold a finger in it and feel nothing but a little damp. Nothing burns, nothing melts, and there is nothing to remember to blow out.

Plain water and it is just the light. Two or three drops of whatever oil you already own and the same tank carries the scent — it is a diffuser, so the oil stays your choice and not a cartridge we sell you.

This is not pretending to be a candle. It is what most people actually want from one: moving amber light on the wall, on a shelf full of paper, with a book in your hand and nothing to keep an eye on.

Does the flame change colour?

No. It is one warm amber-orange, the same every night. There is no colour cycling and no remote — if you have seen listings with purple and blue flames, that is a different unit. What moves is the mist, not the colour.

The mist is fine rather than a spray, and it has usually thinned to nothing well above the surface. Give it a few inches of clear air and do not tuck it directly under a low shelf. On a wooden table we would still not leave it running in the same spot for days on end.
What water should I use?

Ordinary tap water is fine. If your water is hard you may see a faint white dust settle nearby over time — that is the minerals in the water, not the unit. Filtered or distilled water stops it if it bothers you.

Any essential oil you already own. Two or three drops on the water is plenty. No oil is included — that is deliberate, so you are not locked into one scent we happen to stock. Run it on plain water and you still get the light.
