      It mounts on the negative post and the car's own cable bolts onto it, so the whole vehicle is switched off, not just one fuse. No wire cutting.

      An IP54 splash-resistant housing, brass terminals and a 240A rating. Rain, road spray and engine heat are part of the job.

      Installs in about 10 minutes

      1. Loosen the negative cable and lift it off the post.
      2. Clamp the switch onto the negative post.
      3. Bolt the negative cable onto the switch's brass post.
      4. Connect the thin red wire to the positive post.
      5. Press a remote button. Done.

      No wire cutting, no drilling. A 10 mm wrench is usually all you need.

        On some vehicles, yes. Cutting battery power can reset the clock and radio presets, the same as unhooking the battery by hand.

        Up to 100 m (328 ft) in open air. Walls, the closed hood and other cars shorten the range, so most people press it from a few steps away.

        With the power cut, the car won't start until it's switched back on. Someone who opens the hood and rewires the battery could bypass it, so think of it as an extra layer, not a guarantee.
